I've pondered many times the dualistic spirit of today's world. And the wearing and consuming strife to always pick a side - a meaningless effort which is thought to be the core of dualism. As if we'd degenerated on a level of stupid computer chips, only capable of handling 1's and 0's.
Dualism has it's place, for example where the Taoist philosophy puts it. There would be no good without bad. There would not be anything beautiful without the ugly ones. The dualistic nature of all things is an interaction where another is created by another. The opposites gives shape and power to each other. But taking this model to everyday life, is very frustrating, since most of our everyday matters are really not choices of two. Dualism in reality is not just pairs of things - or opposites if you will. They are forces that form constantly changing networks and relations of all things in the universe.
Dualism is to be respected where it's place is. It shouldn't be used as analyzing tool for universe. Too much black and white tears the spirit and the force out of nature. Neither of the apparent opposites is never the truth, the truth is in their interaction and connectedness. Truth is in the source of the force.
